Hooke College of Applied Sciences offers regularly scheduled courses and custom courses in light microscopy, electron microscopy, IR and Raman spectroscopy, and sample preparation. All courses are taught by subject matter experts with several years of industry experience.
As we strive to provide engaging learning experiences for all students, our teaching staff is made up of subject matter experts who remain active in their fields as senior scientists and microscopists from McCrone Associates, and adjunct faculty who are at the top of their field. Using instructors who continually gain relevant experience that they then bring to the classroom enhances student learning. That is why it is true when we say, "Learn from Experience... Learn from the Experts."
In addition to receiving instruction from industry's leading experts, each student uses the latest equipment available in today's market. All of our light microscopy courses are taught with Olympus BX polarized light microscopes and Olympus SZX stereomicroscopes. Our scanning electron microscopy (SEM) courses utilize the latest in JEOL instrumentation along with a variety of the world's best x-ray spectrometers, allowing our students to work with the latest SEM technology.
Hooke College of Applied Sciences' Blended Learning program combines the best of self-directed learning with our renowned hands-on instruction. Many of our courses include a web-based follow-up post-course session that provide students with real-world scenarios, allowing them to explore on their own time, using their workplace equipment.
Hooke College of Applied Sciences has been accredited as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). Many organizations offer some form of continuing education credit, but only the IACET CEU is held to the strict, research-based IACET Criteria and Guidelines for Continuing Education and Training. Only IACET Authorized Providers, who undergo an evaluation by continuing education peers, can award the IACET CEU.
Hooke College of Applied Sciences will work with you to develop custom training that meets the needs of you and your colleagues. We will guide you through course design, and recommend a course length that strikes an optimal balance between results and value. In our experience, we consistently find positive results when a group of colleagues completes a course together and learns the practical techniques necessary to quickly put their new skills to use on the job.
