McCrone Associates, Inc., a Chicago-area analytical and research laboratory, seeks a highly motivated M.S. or Ph.D. level organic chemist with experience in innovative, non-routine microanalysis, consulting, and problem solving. The position includes direct contact with clients from a variety of industries helping them solve their materials and contamination problems using modern microscopy and microanalysis techniques and instruments, including light microscopy, FTIR, Raman, GC/MS, LC/MS, DART Accu-TOF, and HPLC.

The ideal candidate will have a Masters or Doctorate degree in chemistry or materials science with five or more years of relevant, hands-on laboratory experience in spectroscopy and chromatography for materials analysis and problem solving. Excellent oral and written communications skills are essential. Strong software skills with instrument operation and Microsoft Office applications are mandatory. This position does not involve management of personnel, however, strong teamwork and leadership skills are important. Experience working in cGMP and ISO 17025 regulated laboratories is desired.
