Chemical Analysis

The analytical chemistry group addresses a wide scope of investigational analyses across many different industries and applications. Whether your problem is product failure, identification of solid-phase particulate adulterants (accidental or intentional), or determining the presence of an unwanted chemical contaminants, the analytical chemistry lab can help you identify the source of your problem by providing reliable, confidential results.

All projects begin with an evaluation of your specific needs. You will work directly with a project leader to assess the nature of the problem and determine the best approach. Whatever the industry, whatever the problem, we will help you explore the available options to find an analytical approach tailored to your specific needs.

Our analytical laboratory has a variety of instrumentation available to get to the root cause of the problem. Identification of solid-phase particulate contaminants relies on sample preparation, light microscopy, infrared spectroscopy, and Raman spectroscopy. Detection and identification of chemical contaminants or residues benefit from analysis using Direct Analysis in Real Time Mass Spectrometry (DART-MS), or additional chromatography options. Gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC/MS) and liquid chromatography triple quadrupole and mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) are especially useful for identifying residues or contaminants that are present at trace levels.
