Interference filters transmit only a narrow band of the spectrum and thus are essentially monochromatic filters. Three transmit at wavelengths 656nm, 589nm and 486nm corresponding to the C, D and F spectral lines respectively. The fourth filter transmits near 546nm (green) and is necessary for quantitative interference microscopy such as Berek or Senarmont compensation
