The T96 LinkPad has been designed from the ground up to be a completely new standalone system controller capable of not only sophisticated temperature profile programming but controlling motors in XY sample manipulation, driving jaws to apply tensile stress, managing precise pressure via motorized valves, shearing quartz plates in optical rheometry and sampling data 20times per second on numerous channels from a range of sensors from humidity, DSC counts, force to 0.001N, and vacuum pressure.
The operating system is accessed through an ergonomic touch screen display, the LinkPad, and enables the user to quickly enter experimental parameters for the hotstage.
A wider range of controls has been implemented for each line (ramp) of the temperature profile, including the control of external devices through the two programmable open-drain outputs. Two events per ramp can be used to trigger external measurement/control functions. Similarly a programmable input provides potential for the T96 to accept a trigger signal. Parameters such as vacuum level , tensile speed and force can be specified per individual ramp.
The new controller has even better connectivity. USB 2 connection no longer needs a serial card or USB to serial adapter.
There's even more power, heating rates and limits have been significantly increased in specific hotstages (may require heating element upgrade)

The T96 LinkPad can be used with older Linkam stages with only a stage lead modification. A new element is required to get the higher rates and limits.
