Co-packers should be aware that micoanalytical techniques can be used to identify contaminants and, often, their source, because it can save money and keep supplier relationships on an even keel.

Consider the ease of one pharmaceutical contract packager who received a shipment of polypropylene bottles that were supposed to be pure white in color, but displayed numerous black swirls all over the surface.
