McCrone Microscopes Offers Clients a Critical Service

As more and more analytical laboratories require outside validation, McCrone Microscopes and Accessories (MMA) has grown to include installation, operational, and performance qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) services. Qualification standards, IQ/OQ/PQ, were written to assist end-users in the validation of instruments by comparing current data output to predetermined specifications. IQ/OQ/PQ can apply to light microscopes, Linkam thermal stage systems, and the JEOL NeoScope benchtop SEM.

Installation Qualification (IQ) establishes that the microscope system is received as designed and specified, is properly documented, and installed in a suitable environment.

Operational Qualification (OQ) is the process of demonstrating that a microscope, or thermal stage system will function according to its operational specification. Stability, accuracy, resolution, and proper alignment of the system are confirmed using reliable industry accepted procedures.

Once the system has been checked for proper installation and operation, its performance can be validated. Performance qualification (PQ) is the process of demonstrating that these systems consistently perform according to the specification appropriate for their routine use. Documentation is produced which certifies that experimental runs within stipulated parameters have produced pre-determined results.
