Light obscuration particle analysis using our AccuSizer 780 SIS provides quantitative particle counting and sizing of particles in the size range of 0.5 to 400 micrometers. The entire light obscuration particle analysis process, including sample opening and sample preparation, takes place in our ISO Class 5 cleanroom to ensure environmental contamination is minimized. Using light obscuration and light microscopy, our cleanroom microscopists can perform both USP <788> and <789> testing to determine whether injectable fluids and drugs are essentially free of contamination from particles greater than 10 micrometers.
Some investigations require information about particle morphology and composition, which can be obtained by examination using one of our scanning electron microscopes (SEM) equipped with X-ray spectrometry. Scanning electron microscopy images particles with nanometer-scale resolution, and produces quantitative elemental analysis. Typically, samples are prepared for SEM analysis in our ISO Class 5 cleanroom.
AccuSizer 780 SIS: Utilizes the technique of Single Particle Optical Sensing (SPOS), also known as light obscuration, to count and size particles in the range of 0.5 to 400 microns. It uses a simple syringe pump to pull precise aliquots of sample through the light obscuration sensor. The AccuSizer 780 SIS provides rapid quantitative analysis, exceptional resolution and sensitivity.
