Jeffrey McGinn Named Hooke College of Applied Sciences President and COO

Westmont, Ill. (January 1, 2015) – The McCrone Group, Inc. (TMG) announced Jeffrey D. McGinn’s promotion to President and Chief Operating Officer of Hooke College of Applied Sciences (HCAS). One of three companies operating as a member of TMG, HCAS provides microscopy education. McGinn will oversee HCAS marketing, sales, recruiting, curriculum implementation, and operations. This newly-created position will be in addition to his current responsibilities as the President and COO of McCrone Microscopes & Accessories (MMA), TMG’s instrument sales company.

Charles A. Zona will continue as the College’s Dean of Students and Programs, where he will concentrate on course and program development to ensure course consistency and student satisfaction.

“The College continues to expand the technical material taught in its regular and custom courses and at the same time its expanding undergraduate programs, and needs the technical and marketing expertise to ensure that we are giving the value-added experience to each of our students,” said Donald A. Brooks, Chairman and CEO of TMG. “McGinn has the required background to lead the College into the next decade.”

McGinn joined McCrone in 2004 as a Technical Sales Representative, and was named Director of MMA in 2007. In 2008, he was promoted to Vice President and Director of Instrument Sales, setting new sales records for MMA. He was appointed President of MMA in 2011. Jeff earned his Bachelor of Science in biological sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and received his Master of Business Administration at the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza School of Business.
