Scott F. Stoeffler named The McCrone Group “Employee of the Year”


WESTMONT, IL (May 7, 2007) – The McCrone Group Inc., internationally recognized as a world leader in microanalysis and the nation’s Premier Microscopy Resource, announces today that Scott F. Stoeffler, Senior Research Microscopist, was named 2006 “Employee of the Year.” Stoeffler is recognized for his blend of technical skills, leadership, and dedication to The McCrone Group’s success and for consistently exceeding both client and company performance expectations.

“It is always difficult to select one employee from the many talented and dedicated scientists and support team members,” Donald A. Brooks, President & CEO, The McCrone Group, said. “It is Scott’s energy, interest in learning, and willingness to assume additional responsibility that has made him an invaluable asset to The McCrone Group,” Brooks said.

“Scott has exhibited true “Employee of the Year” attributes ever since he joined the staff and his performance epitomizes our high standards and commitment to excellence,” Brooks added. “Scott simply leads the pack!” Stoeffler joined The McCrone Group in 1997 and is responsible for the microscopical and chemical analysis of small particles and trace materials in industrial samples including pharmaceuticals, foods, fabrics, dusts polymers, glass and other manufactured products, as well as forensic samples in criminal investigations and civil litigation. Prior to joining McCrone he served as a laboratory scientist with the Michigan Department of State Police Forensic Science Division.

Stoeffler earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with honors from the University of Michigan and a Master of Science in Forensic Chemistry from Northeastern University. In addition to publishing a number of technical papers, he is a member of several professional organizations including: Midwestern Association of Forensic Scientists; Midwest Microscopy & Microanalysis Society; and, Scientific Working Group of Materials Analysis (SWGMAT), and a Diplomate with the American Board of Criminalistics.

Stoeffler is also a member of the faculty at The McCrone Group’s new microscopy learning center, the College of Microscopy in Westmont, Illinois. Stoeffler resides in Downers Grove, Illinois.
