The McCrone Group Appoints New Division Heads

Promotes Executives at McCrone Associates and McCrone Microscopes & Accessories

WESTMONT, IL. (January 27, 2011) – The McCrone Group, Inc. (TMG) promoted David A. Wiley, formerly Vice President and Director of Information Technology, to the position of President of McCrone Associates, Inc. (MA). MA is the analytical services division of TMG, a leader in materials analysis and internationally recognized as the premier microscopy resource. He will be responsible for MA’s business operations, taking over from Donald A. Brooks, who will remain as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of TMG.

Kent L. Rhodes, Ph.D., formerly Vice President and Director of Analytical Services of McCrone Associates, Inc., was promoted to the position of Senior Vice President and Technical Director. Rhodes will oversee technical development of the division’s analytical services and client services.

Jeffrey D. McGinn, formerly Vice President and Director of Instrument Sales, was promoted to President of TMG’s instruments sales division, McCrone Microscopes & Accessories, LLC (MMA). He will be responsible for MMA’s business operations and sales efforts.

Wiley joined The McCrone Group in 1999, and most recently served as the Vice President of MA. As Vice President, he developed and implemented new electronic data and report workflow systems resulting in increased project efficiency, and directed the execution of corporate marketing plans that have enhanced TMG’s standing as a global leader in microanalysis. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at the University of New Hampshire and is presently pursuing an MBA at the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza School of Business.

Rhodes brings more than 25 years of experience working in the materials analysis and laboratory services industry. He began as a Research Scientist in 1990 for MA and most recently served as the Vice President and Director of Analytical Services. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Mathematics at Cornell College, and his Masters and PhD in Inorganic Chemistry at Northwestern University.

Since 2008, McGinn has served as the Vice President and Director of Instrument Sales setting new revenue records for MMA. He joined the division in 2004 as a Technical Sales Representative, and in 2007 McGinn was promoted to MMA’s Director of Instrument Sales. McGinn earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences from the University of Illinois and is presently pursuing an MBA at the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza School of Business.
