Jeffrey McGinn Named the McCrone Group Vice President of Instrument Sales

JEFFREY MCGINN NAMED THE MCCRONE GROUP VICE PRESIDENT OF INSTRUMENT SALES

WESTMONT, Ill. April 30, 2009 – The McCrone Group, Inc. today announced Jeffrey D. McGinn’s promotion to Vice President of Instrument Sales of McCrone Microscopes & Accessories (MMA). McGinn was also recently honored as the company’s 2009 “Employee of the Year” at the company’s 53rd anniversary celebration.

“Since taking over the group two years ago, Jeff successfully orchestrated a great sales team and set new revenue records, all while keeping the customer #1,” said Donald A. Brooks, President and CEO of The McCrone Group. “He has extraordinary leadership abilities, and this past year increased revenues of the instrument division by 22%-a remarkable feat in such turbulent and erratic economic times. Under his leadership, I expect McCrone Microscopes & Accessories to continue to experience growth and success,” added Brooks.

McGinn will head The McCrone Group’s instrument sales division, MMA, which offers a complete line of Olympus microscopes, Linkam thermal stages and PAX-it imaging/archival systems, along with other microscopy related instruments, reference standards and resource books. Established in 1960, MMA offers one of the most complete lines of products and accessories for the optical microscopist in the country.

Since January 2007, McGinn has served as MMA’s Director of Instrument Sales. He joined the division in June 2004 as a Technical Sales Engineer and scientific equipment instructor. McGinn also continues to teach courses in microchemistry and microanalysis methodologies at the College of Microscopy, The McCrone Group’s education division and learning center. McGinn earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences from the University of Illinois.

The McCrone Group Employee of the Year program was established to recognize an employee who consistently performs well beyond a job description and unselfishly addresses client and team member needs. McGinn was nominated and chosen by fellow staff members to win the award.
