Happy New Year from McCrone Microscopes & Accessories (MMA)! Every new year brings excitement and the possibility for new products. Check out these new products for 2021.

The economical Nikon Digital Sight 1000 color microscope camera can directly display high-definition microscope images on a full HD display without the need for a PC. It can also be connected to a tablet-style PC to save space. The Digital Sight 1000 comes equipped with a 2 MP CMOS sensor, and can display, capture and save full HD, 1920 x 1080 pixel images at 30 frames per second. You can also display scale bars, and measure areas to calculate distances between two points. For a limited time, we’re pleased to offer this new camera free of charge with particular microscope configurations*. Just ask your MMA technical representative and they will be happy serve your needs.

The Linkam MFS system is continually being improved and will offer new features in 2021, including a 600N force beam, and the option to add a larger surface area heating block. With its many possible unique configurations, the MFS is an excellent tool for mechanical testing; to learn more about its applications, watch our in-depth webinar on demand.

Sample preparation is a critical component of the work we do at McCrone—it all starts with good sample preparation. MMA has always offered a wide variety of sample preparation equipment, from mills to sputter coaters to polishers. The new Retsch Mixer Mill MM 500 is a versatile benchtop unit developed specially for high sample throughput in dry, wet and cryogenic grinding of small sample amounts. This powerful mill mixes and pulverizes powders and suspensions efficiently and quickly down to the nanometer range in the shortest time. The new jar design allows for full use of volume, for wet grinding, and for use under inert gas. The MM500 is now the industry standard for mixer mills.
